To the Forest of Firefly Lights
Hotaru is an elementary school girl who enjoys her summers every year in her unkle's house in the countryside. One day she got lost in the nearby forest; a forbidden forest for every human being to visit, as the Spirits of the forest will drag them to oblivion. In there, Hotaru met Gin. This summer, and every summer from now on, will change their lives forever...
Already from our childhood years we have memories of moments we lived with other people, our parents, our siblings, our friends and with ourselves. These moments always seem like a given; happy feelings that would remain unchanged as time passes.
When you are a child you see the world as it should be, a beautiful sweet dream. You can't wait to play with your friends, smell your favorite food your mother cooked returning home from school, and definitely visit your grandparents during the summer season getting ready to be spoiled again. Even now, where some of us have grown up a bit more, these memories remain and continue to be solid foundations of our happiness. And just like that, we seek to revive these memories in our daily lives as adults; trying to preserve them unchanged over time...
or at least this is the original plan before life starts "happening".
As time goes by, we inevitably change, grow, and say farewell on parts of ourselves in order to welcome new ones. This transition process sometimes goes unnoticed, looks like a logical and gradual continuation. As a result, everything beautiful and magical that was taken for granted, start turning into a habitual condition; and as time continues to flow, this condition continues to accompany our happy moments, making them limited, leaving fewer sweet memories in the corners of our mind. From this moment on we can forget more easily. Unaware as we are, we gradually lead our way towards a critical moment that will change ourselves forever; leaving us with a bitter feeling of sorrow, absence and guilt.
This movie is a reminder to live and enjoy every moment of our lives; how lucky we are to have beautiful people by our side to share these moments and feelings with. Take nothing and no one for granted. And when one day life strikes and we lose them forever, and all the moments we lived together will be lost as well, along with a part of our self, be grateful if you can answer positively...Did we express how magical our lives had become by having them by our side? Did we hug them enough? Did we enjoy every moment with them, smiling? without holding back our feelings? Did we say "i love you"?
Then we shared something unimaginable, forever engraved in our hearts, making it impossible to ever be forgotten.
Animation movies are not for children only. They revive pure emotions, long forgotten by adults, and that is their reason of being unique.
If you have never seen an anime since your childhood, give it a try! and share your thoughts in the comments below! I hope you enjoy it as much as i did!
